Artemis Shooting Sports & Training Academy Aims to Serve the Community

Academy focuses on safety, security, compliance, and preparedness

On Thursday, July 10th, Artemis Shooting Sports & Training Academy held an official ribbon-cutting. Located at 543-545 Boston Post Road, Orange, the grand opening was held in partnership with the Amity Chamber of Commerce and featured a facility tour that was topped off with a pizza party.

Dan Paris, General Manager of Artemis Shooting Sports & Training Academy, and his wife, Katie, were joined by Barry Lee Cohen, CEO of the Amity Chamber of Commerce, along with family members, customers, students, and staff.

"Committed to the local community, with a focus on safety, security, compliance, and preparedness, our tagline, 'For Those With Purpose,' underscores our mission of elite medical, weapons, driving, and tactics training! Our dedicated staff of retired law enforcement, military veterans and outdoor and shooting sports enthusiasts provide training, products and services for the shooting sports, personal protection, law enforcement and the outdoor community," said Liz Gesualdo, Artemis Head of Training and a 25-year veteran of the New York City Police Department where she ran the Instructor Development Unit.

Paris added, "Our mission is to create a community where every customer and student, from beginner to advanced, can build confidence, master precision, and gain the critical skills to protect themselves, loved ones, and the community.”

The Academy's name, Artemis, was inspired by the mythological Greek Goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and protector of the innocent, which the academy notes is their guiding spirit for "Safety, Security, and Compliance," thereby reflecting the Academy's alignment with the ideals of preparedness, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
