The First Selectman's office would like to share the news of a wonderful gift presented to the town of Orange Wednesday morning, May 29, 2013.
Patricia O'Sullivan Lucey, a long-time and beloved resident of Orange, presented the town of Orange a photograph of the first step on the moon -- signed by Astronauts from Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.
The photo was a gift given to James O'Sullivan, Mrs. Lucey's brother who passed away a year ago, from the Apollo 11 Crew many years ago. Mr. O'Sullivan served as a Consul General of Australia and had a 30-year career with the state department.
Upon reflection of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School last December, the O'Sullivan Family wanted to give some inspiration to the children of Orange that even if you are from a small town like Orange, the sky is the limit on the possibilities of what you can achieve.
