Here’s Why Alex Was Shouted Out As An Orange Star Student
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Orange.

ORANGE, CT— Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Crystal who nominated her son, Alex, a 10th-grade Amity High School student and Orange resident.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Alex is one of a kind. Since he was very young he has been very mature, hardworking, polite and considerate. Alex has a big heart and puts 100% into everything he does. He maintained all A’s through middle school and is currently holding a 5.0 GPA at Amity in honors courses. Alex has been recognized by faculty to be part of the Leadership Program and participate in the Link Crew. He is a peer tutor and part of the Class Act Council. It’s not just in the classroom that Alex excels. He runs cross country and as a Freshman ran for varsity. He was nominated by his coaches to be the team's Captain in the 2023 season. Alex is a leader on the basketball court too. He is currently starting JV and plays many minutes on Varsity. He is someone who is always working on his skills, giving 110% and stays positive and motivating for his teammates. In the Spring Alex runs Track, we are looking forward to what he may accomplish there.
Alex has an extremely bright future ahead of him. He has a tremendous amount of talent, knowledge and potential. We are proud of all his accomplishments in academics and sports, but most importantly he is a kind human being.
