James Anthony Moccia, 58, of Orange, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. James was born on May 12, 1967 in New Haven, CT, to the late Mario and Patrizia Moccia.

James was a skilled and hardworking mechanic who dedicated many years to his craft, with his most enduring role being with Waste Water Management as a class 3 water operator and heavy equipment operator. His tireless work ethic and unmatched ability to fix just about anything earned him the nickname “Monster Mocc.” No task was too difficult, no hour too late—James always showed up, ready to get the job done.

Beyond his talents, what truly defined James was his big, open heart. He was a devoted father, and his son Vinny was the light of his life. James’s greatest joy came from sharing his mechanical knowledge with Vinny, teaching him not only how things worked, but to always stay curious and never stop asking questions. He embraced his son’s wonder for the world and encouraged it every step of the way. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and James’s pride in being a father was evident to all who knew him.
