Jean Villinger Mitchell, 94 of Woodbridge, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025. Jean was born on April 25, 1931, in Derby, CT to the late Adolf and Alice Villinger. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Mitchell, Sr.

Jean is survived by her beloved daughter, Pamela Clemens, grandchildren: Kenneth Mitchell III (Jackie), Kara Mitchell (Jeff Smith), William Clemens (Leigh), and Amy Clemens, four cherished great grandchildren: Chloe Clemens, William Clemens, Jr., Nora Mitchell, Max Mitchell, and daughter in law Kim Mitchell. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Mitchell, Sr., son Kenneth Mitchell, Jr., and son-in-law Michael Clemens.

A lifelong resident of Orange, CT, Jean served as Assistant Town Clerk and Town Clerk for several years. She was active in several civic groups. Jean’s pride was in her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and hosting holidays. Jean’s passions included traveling with her late husband, cooking for her family, gardening and enjoying a nice Manhattan cocktail every now and then.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Prayer Service is to be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to arrive at 10:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. Interment will follow at Orange Center Cemetery, Orange Center Road, Orange, CT.
