Obituary: Herbert James Golde, 97, of Orange
Herbert was a professional racecar driver, avid NASCAR fan, devoted family man and proud U.S Marine veteran.

ORANGE, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Herbert James Golde, 97 of Orange and formerly of Milford, beloved husband of the late Doris Golde, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2022.
Born on January 23, 1925 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Nathan and Francis (Datz) Golde.
Herbert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII, where he served on multiple Aircraft Carriers. After returning from service, he married the love of his life, Doris.
Together they raised their family and happily, did everything together, including playing Pinochle.
Herbert was also a professional racecar driver and had a great love for NASCAR.
Herbert is survived by his children, Wayne (Dede) Golde, Bryan (Skidboot) Golde, Nancy Bonaparte, and Lisa (Jim) Richetelli, Jr.; his grandchildren, Scott (Meagan) Golde, Lauren (Michael) Paone, Rachel, Kevin and Derek Bonaparte, and Michelle, Julie, and James (Gina) Richetelli; his great-grandchildren, Chase, Harper, Alyssa, Michael, and Peyton; his sisters, Ruth Berkowitz, and Dorothy Fialk; and many nieces and nephews.
Herbert was predeceased by his son-in-law, Kevin Bonaparte, and brother, Philip Golde.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kristen Glasgow and the staff of Bridgeport Hospital for their compassion and care.
All services will be private at this time.
