Obituary: Lisa Keith Laudano (Porto Funeral Homes)

Porto Funeral Homes

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Keith Laudano, 75, of Orange, who died peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Haven on February 14, 1950, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Lina Ferri Keith. She was the devoted wife of Cosmo N. Laudano, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Lisa was the loving mother of Mark Laudano of West Haven, Lauren Laudano (Robert Nuzzello Jr.) of Branford, and her cherished canine companion, Sparky. Lisa is survived by in-laws Mario and June Laudano of Vero Beach FL. , Carmel (Millie) and Pete Merola of West Haven, Madelyn and Thomas Carboni of Milford, Frances and Daniel Rea of West Haven, who always lent their love and support. She is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. A graduate of Lee High School, Lisa went on to earn her degree from the University of New Haven. She dedicated her career to caring for others as an X-Ray technician at the West Haven VA, where she was known for her kindness, skill, and compassion. Lisa had an infectious zest for life and an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel—Italy held a special place in her heart—and she found great joy in outdoor activities. Whether it was golf, tennis, racquetball, skiing, or scuba diving, she embraced every moment with enthusiasm and made many lifelong friends along the way. She was especially proud to serve as president of the Tashua Knolls Women Nine Hole League, where she shared her love of golf and built lasting friendships. One of Lisa’s greatest joys was rescuing animals. She devoted herself to giving abandoned and mistreated pets a second chance at life, filling her home with love, comfort, and the sound of paws. Her deep compassion for animals was matched only by the joy they brought her in return. Over the years, she provided a safe haven to countless furry companions and inspired others to do the same. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Scott Gettinger, Dr. Wayne Panullo, Dr. Surani Fernando, Dr. Joni Hansen, and APRN Shazia Joseph, along with the entire team at Smilow Cancer Hospital, for their extraordinary care, compassion, and support throughout Lisa’s illness. Lisa’s warmth, generosity, and spirited nature touched everyone who knew her. She was taken far too soon and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she graced—including the many animals lucky enough to have known her love.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven Monday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Infant Church in Orange at 11:00. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Family and friends may call SUNDAY from 4:00-7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal, 749 East Main St., Branford, Ct 06405. Sign Lisa’s guest book online at www.portofuneralhomes.net.
