Obituary: Mark S. Ciancola, 65, formerly of Orange

Mark, a dedicated and devoted family man, spent many years in the roofing industry working for F.J. Dahill before owning his own business.

ORANGE, CT - (From Porto Funeral Home) Mark S. Ciancola, 65, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at CT Hospice after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Mark was born on July 19, 1956 in New Haven to Gloria (Del Mauro) Ciancola and the late Joseph Ciancola.

He was raised in Orange alongside his three brothers, Charles, Paul and Joseph Ciancola as well as their three cousins, Richard, Robert, and William Cappiello who lived next door.

Mark spent many years in the roofing industry, working first for F.J. Dahill and later opening his own business.

He took great pride in his work and specialized in sheet metal. It brought him great joy to drive through New Haven pointing out the buildings he had worked on.

In addition to his mother, brothers and cousins, Mark leaves behind his four children, Jennifer Ciancola, Chelsea (Michael) Castelot, Leah and Brett Ciancola as well as his beloved grandchildren, Parker and Quinn.

He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved cat, Tigger, who is now in the caring hands of his kindhearted neighbor, Angel Morales.

Services will be private.
