Open, Honest Talks By Parents And Children Reduce Underage Drinking
Dichello Distributions, Inc. offers a free guide to help parents discuss underage drinking with their children.
ORANGE, CT – Alcohol Awareness Coordinator at Dichello Distributors, Inc., Tony Lota, stated that the new school year brings new classes, activities, and peer pressure to experiment with underage drinking.
Through a prepared statement, Lota said according to the 2008 Gfk Roper Youth Report, 74 percent of eight to 17-year-olds cite their parents as the No. 1 influence on whether they drink alcohol.
Lota said to encourage open and honest communication between parents and children to help prevent underage drinking, Dichello Distributors, Inc., offers a free guide titled “Family Talk About Drinking.”

Lota said solid educational programs such as “Family Talk About Drinking,” paired with effective law enforcement, are essential to progress in the fight against underage drinking and teen drunk driving.
Lota said according to the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, all measures of teen alcohol use have declined since 1998.
