Orange Physician Reprimanded by CT Medical Board: Report

An Orange doctor reportedly has been reprimanded by the state Medical Examining Board that also imposed a six-month probationary period for his medical license..
Dr. James W. Marshall Jr., 60, who lives in Orange and operates his medical practice in Monroe, will have his medical license placed on probation for six months if he renews his registration to prescribe controlled substances, according to The New Haven Register. After he was implicated in an auto insurance fraud investigation conducted by the FBI, Marshall voluntarily surrendered his registration in 2011, according to the report.
Marshall, who operates Immediate Medical Care in Monroe, prescribed painkillers 145 times for 75 people who were not his patients and not examined by him, according to the newspaper report. Marshall reportedly believed the patients were car accident victims, according to The Register report that can be found here.
