• Walter 'Bud' Smith: Encore (theorangetimes.com) — Orange residents are reminded of longtime Orange Hills Golf Club owner Walter “Bud” Smith, whose World War II service included being captured at the Battle of the Bulge and surviving months as a prisoner of war. A local writer and fellow Orange resident revisits his life story, from Hillhouse High and UConn to building up the beloved golf course and cherishing his family.
