Police: Man Robbed Orange Cold Stone Creamery With Knife

Police believe this man might have robbed other stores in the area as well and are asking the public for help.

A press release from the Orange Police Department:

On Monday, at about 6:55 p.m., a 911 call was received from the clerk at Cold Stone Creamery stating she had just been robbed.  Officers arrived within moments and a K-9 track was initiated.  The track led to the rear of a closed business at 285 Boston Post Rd, where it ended.

The clerk described the suspect as a white male wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with white stripes down each sleeve.  The male wore a dark colored baseball cap beneath the hood and a dark colored bandanna over the lower half of his face.  He was wearing green camouflage pants and dark gloves.

He was described at between 5' 5" and 5' 7" and between 150 to 170 lbs.  He brandished a knife and demanded the clerk to open the register.  When she did he grabbed an undetermined amount of cash and fled the store. No one was injured during the event.

The suspect has a similar description as a suspect who robbed the Subway at 116 Boston Post Rd on Oct. 6.  Orange Police Detectives processed the scene and are working on securing video surveillance from the Cold Stone location.   We are also working with area departments which have had similar robberies.
