Popular Burger Restaurant Shutters In Orange

The eatery had been operating at its Boston Post Road location for years.

ORANGE, CT — The local Five Guys restaurant on the Boston Post Road closed as of this past weekend.

Annemarie Sliby, executive director of the Orange Economic Development Corporation, said the business’ lease had come to term and it was unable to reach an agreement to renew it.

According to Sliby, the business has been operating at 440 Boston Post Rd. for years.

“We were surprised they didn’t come to an agreement,” she said. “We felt they were very successful here in Orange, and it was a busy location. I have gone there myself. We have really enjoyed having them.”

Sliby said Tuesday she has reached out to the business, as she wants to find out if Five Guys is interested in relocating to a different local space.

“I know all the vacant spots in town,” she said.

The Boston Post Road space Five Guys occupied is advertised as being available for lease.

Five Guys, which has grown to include restaurants worldwide, lists about two dozen locations in Connecticut. The fast casual burger chain is known for its burgers, fries and milkshakes.

Five Guys did not immediately respond to a request for a comment Tuesday on the Orange location. The Alexandria, Virginia-based chain aims to expand its global footprint, according to its website.
