As a small businesses owner, Ferraro understands first-hand the struggles of operating a business in Connecticut. He has made it a priority to meet with businesses and local Chambers of Commerce to hear about the issues they are facing. To address their concerns, he introduced pro-business legislation to help grow manufacturing and reduce the taxes and red tape placed on businesses. These are important steps needed to stimulate job creation.

Ferraro said, “As your Representative, I have co-sponsored bills that help our citizens. These bills include aid for veterans, state residents with disabilities and protecting consumers. I have supported bills that help battered women and restored funding for key programs while fighting to reduce waste.

“I am proud that I have kept my campaign promises by voting against the second largest tax increase in state history, by opposing unfunded mandates that increase local taxes and policies that drive businesses and good jobs out of Connecticut.

“During the budget debate, I watched critical Republican amendments that I supported, voted down by the Democratic majority. These included a proposal to substantially reduce taxpayer money used to fund political campaigns in order to preserve funding for child protection programs that addressed such critical issues as abuse, neglect and family violence.

“Despite record tax increases and borrowing enacted by the majority party, our state is once again facing large budget deficits. The latest budget passed by the majority isn’t without tax increases because it shifts an increased tax burden to local communities.

“We must increase Republican representation in our State Legislature in order to bring a balanced perspective to Hartford. It has been an honor to serve as your state representative, and I ask for your continued support. Please join me as I continue the fight to make Connecticut a better place to live and work,” Ferraro said.

Charles is currently out in the community speaking with voters to discuss the past legislative session and understand their concerns. He can be reached via (203) 410-3207 or cferraro04@snet.net for more information.
