Snowy Night Triggers 3 Crashes In Oxford
Firefighters handled back-to-back calls Friday evening, including one crash with occupants trapped, officials said.
OXFORD, CT — Snowy conditions led to three separate motor vehicle crashes in Oxford on Friday night, including one that required crews to free trapped occupants, according to the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company.
Fire officials said the crashes happened between about 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The first call brought crews to Park Road for a two-car head-on crash. One of the vehicles ended up off the road in a ditch. While firefighters were still on scene there, additional units were sent to Great Hill Road for another two-car head-on crash.

Firefighters secured the vehicle using chains and a rear hitch-mounted winch, then used a ladder to create a safe path from the road to the embankment. The occupants were removed and turned over to Oxford EMS, officials said.
Despite the severity of the crashes, officials said all three incidents resulted in minor or no injuries.
Units responding included Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company apparatus, Oxford EMS, and the Oxford Police Department.
