The Lighthouse Program, an initiative of Kids In Crisis dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth, announces an engaging new workshop titled "Beyond Queer Stereotypes: A Youth Workshop on Representation in the Media." This free event, featuring Rachel Simon of the Triangle Community Center (TCC), will take place on March 14th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ridgefield Teen Barn. It is open to youth in 6th-12th grade from any town. No sign-up required.

This workshop offers a safe and creative space for LGBTQ+ youth to explore media representation, discuss personal experiences, and express their individuality through character creation. The interactive session aims to encourage positive engagement within the community and foster a sense of social and communal belonging, which is vital for the mental health of young individuals.

TCC is renowned for its inclusive support and active weekly social groups, serving a diverse community and fostering inclusivity and understanding throughout Fairfield County.
Join Us: We invite all LGBTQ+ youth in grades 6-12 to join us for this unique workshop. It's a chance to connect, learn, and grow in a supportive atmosphere. Lighthouse hosts a series of monthly gatherings every second Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ridgefield Teen Barn. Youth from any town are welcome to participate in the group meetings and special events. This inclusive policy ensures that support and community are accessible to all LGBTQ+ youth.
