Comic Con, Meet RidgeCon: Pokémon GO, Dr. Who, Downton Abbey Fans Encouraged to Attend

There will be light saber demonstrations by Way of the Sword and live entertainment by the talented musicians of RMAC.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — While New York Comic Con might be host to the latest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies and television, The Ridgefield Library is hosting an all‐ages scaled down version on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13. There will be plenty of fun for fans of Captain America, Downton Abbey, Pokemon and more. The new name "RidgeCon" reflects their tagline “What are you a fan of?”

On Saturday, August 13, join fans of comic books, television shows and graphic novels as they invade the Ridgefield Library at 472 Main Street from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM for this fun-filled festival. Admission is free and costumes are welcome and encouraged, but not required. Fans will play trivia games, scavenger hunts, take green screen photos, experience Cosplay, Virtual Reality demos, raffle drawings, coding, face painting, coloring, crafts, games and much more.

Vendors will be on hand selling a wide variety of pop culture merchandise. There will be light saber demonstrations by Way of the Sword and live entertainment by the talented musicians of RMAC. New this year is Dowagers and Mad Hatters on Friday, Aug. 12 at 7:00 PM for fans of Downtown Abbey, Jane Austen, Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Who and other British fandoms. Signature themed cocktails and non‐alcoholic beverages will be served, along with a selection of treats.
