Popular Ridgefield Eatery Temporarily Closed Following Fire
The owners extended their thanks to the Ridgefield Fire Department for their "fast response and high-level professionalism."
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The omelets are on hold at The Early Bird.
The popular café and breakfast spot at 86 Danbury Road in Ridgefield has closed temporarily, following a fire last week.
"The Early Bird is closed until further notice," the owners posted on Facebook Dec. 27. "There was a small fire in the kitchen yesterday around 3:30 pm. Thankfully no one was hurt and there is no serious damage."

The café has been feeding hungry Ridgefielders since 1991. In addition to an extensive breakfast menu, the Blue Bird also serves lunch until 3 p.m. most days and dinner until 8 p.m. on Thursday, according to its website.
