Dozens Of Animals Seized From Deplorable Conditions In CT: State Police

Over a dozen rabbits and other animals stacked in cages were seized from a home in Connecticut Wednesday.

LITCHFIELD, CT — Over two dozen animals were seized after police searched a home in Litchfield, state police announced Thursday. Police say served a search warrant a ta home on Beach Street after finding two dogs and a cat in poor health Monday.

Investigators returned to the home Wednesday, where they found sixteen live rabbits, four live adult cats, three live kittens, two dead kittens and five live chickens.

In a photo provided by police, rabbits appeared to be stacked in cages in an unfinished and highly unsanitary conditions. In a tweet Thursday, state police called the conditions deplorable.

No arrests have been made, according to state police. The investigation remains active.
