Family of Ridgefield Woman Who Died In Plane Crash Thanks Community

The Depuy family expresses gratitude for the support and kind words they have received since the loss of their daughter, Carey V. Depuy.

[Editor’s Note: The following letter appeared on the Ridgefield Press website and was submitted by the Depuy family whose daughter Carey died in a plane crash with fellow Ridgefielder Ryan Adams on Sept. 20 in Morrisville, N.Y.]

In the letter, the Depuy family writes, “Although we are experiencing intractable pain at the loss of our darling daughter, we are humbled by the outpouring of care and support from so many groups and individuals.

We have received hundreds of condolence notes, mass cards, flowers, meals and generous contributions to the Carey V. Depuy Kindness Scholarship Fund,” the family wrote in a letter to the Ridgefield Press.

The family thanked several local groups while acknowledging “It is difficult to express our gratitude through our breaking hearts.” The family in the letter adds that since Carey’s death they have heard countless stories about how her “kindness touched scores of (people).”
