Founders Hall, A Mini-College For Seniors

Charlotte Bazydola has been working on oil painting at Founders Hall for about 10 years. She takes the oil painting classes, but she also practices oil painting on her own.

“If you’re thinking about it, try it,” Bazydola said. “We’re a supportive group and a mixture of beginners and people like myself who have been here a long time.”

Bazydola is working on a seascape now with bright sunshine reflected off the ocean. She isn’t content with the brightness yet, so she’s going to tackle the surf again. After that, Bazydola will work on a rainbow for her niece.

“Founders Hall is like a mini-college for seniors,” Bazydola said. She likes the classes, the lectures and all the activities.

“My lady friends and I like the teas,” Bazydola said.

Summer session classes start June 24, and most run for 10 weeks.

Classes include, The Art of Writing, The Romantic Spirit, Chopin, Liszt & George Sand, Drawing Etc., Drawing: I Can Draw, Drawing: Advanced Portraiture, Drawing with Colored Pencils and Oil Painting. Other summer activities include fitness classes, road trips, computer courses, dance courses, hobbies and sports.
