The highlights from this week’s Board of Selectpersons (BOS) meeting are below:

- The Conservation Commission would like to work with the Town to create a proactive program to identify potential properties for open space. In addition, they would like to discuss potential funding possibilities that will allow them to access money quickly for land transactions. The Town and the Conservation Commission continue to work toward acquiring more open space for residents to enjoy and for the protection of natural resources and habitats in Ridgefield.
- Congratulations to Krishaa Bhattacharjee on her appointment to the Youth Commission, and to Michael Schmer and Todd Cody on their appointments to the Insurance & Risk Management Committee.
- The Ramapoo Rifle and Revolver Club, which is used by the Police Department for training, would like to renegotiate the lease with the Town to include some minor changes. Town Council will review the lease to decide if the changes are instrumental enough to initiate a Town Meeting for approval.
- The Alternative High School and 18-22 Transition Program are still looking for a home. The newest proposed location is 34 Halpin Lane. The project will include building a new structure with a separate floor for each program. There is a Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearing scheduled for December 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Annex Building and residents are encouraged to attend. More details will be provided at that time. The final step before moving forward with the project will be a Town Meeting or Referendum for a vote by Ridgefield residents.
