Hurricane Harvey: Ridgefield Residents Raising Funds For Victims

Hurricane Harvey has forced tens of thousands of Texas residents to evacuate their homes and has claimed 15 lives.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Two Ridgefield residents are heading to Texas this weekend to deliver a $10,000 donation to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. According to a Gofundme page the two are seeking $10,000 in donations in order to purchase food and supplies for the victims.

The Daily Voice reports Ezra Zimmerman and Pete Rossini will rent a 26-foot box truck to deliver the supplies to Houston. They ask anyone able to help to please do so.

"If we do not meet our goal, Pete and I will pay for the difference to make this happen," read the post written by Zimmerman."Any help would be appreciated!"

The Houston, Texas, area has been pelted with four days of record-setting rain fall due to what is now Tropical Storm Harvey. The former category four storm dropped over 50 inches of rain and led to the deaths of 15 people including a Houston police officer.

The storm has also forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes.
