Letter: 'Aimee Supports Education'
"Aimee has also worked to increase funding for childcare, arts and cultural programs for all children in Connecticut…"
To the editor:
I’m voting to reelect Aimee Berger-Girvalo as Ridgefield’s 111th District Representative. As a retired educator who worked as a teacher and administrator in the New York and Connecticut schools for over forty years, I know that she cares deeply for children’s education, health and well-being. Her record proves that she’s fought tirelessly in Hartford for our students in Ridgefield. Aimee secured $400,000 in funding for ADA compliant elementary playgrounds, garnered grants to increase the mental health and social service staff in our schools, made sure that we had funds to upgrade and maintain the vital HVAC systems for healthy school air quality and helped to secure $2 million for our local Boys and Girls Club. Aimee has also worked to increase funding for childcare, arts and cultural programs for all children in Connecticut. This is in addition to her strong support for the environment, women’s health, and our community’s non-profits.
I’m not the only education professional who supports Aimee’s reelection; she is endorsed by the Connecticut Education Association and the National Association of Social Workers. Aimee has always cared for our students; she worked with them in the Ridgefield Public Schools prior to becoming our Representative. I no longer have school-aged children, yet I know they are our future. I urge you to join me in voting for Aimee Berger-Girvalo on Tuesday, November 8th.
