Letter: 'Local School Boards Across the USA Are Under Attack'

Local school boards across the USA are under attack, and-whether anyone likes it or not-the attacks are political.

The recent jockeying over our BOE's leadership has raised concerns over the politicization of our Board, which should not be condoned. Some members of the BOE have publicly stated that the BOE is a "partisan board". I strongly disagree. Any Board member affiliated with outside groups like Moms for Liberty or who espouse their philosophies, does not represent the voters of Ridgefield. BOE leaders should share the values of the voters and continue to honor the longstanding Ridgefield tradition of focusing on the support of kids, teachers and the professionals who dedicate their lives to education.
