Letter: 'In Support Of Congressman Jim Himes'

"Jim is here. He is present. Firmly behind women, men, children, seniors and America…"

Dear Editors:

It is rare in these days of polarization and harsh rhetoric to have a Congressional representative who listens without bias, takes measured action and is committed to addressing big national initiatives while also working with constituents on topics of vital interest in their local communities as well as how their families live each and every day. Congressman Jim Himes is that Congress person.

Jim Himes is not only a senior member of Congress, representing our interests on critical and strategic committees such as the House Intelligence Committee, he is also intimately connected with and understands what Fairfield County and Ridgefield need from their Representative. Jim has the unique ability to operate at a high level, as well as the local level. Jobs, money into the district, Federal money for CT’s aging infrastructure, neighborhood revitalization, and support for schools, hospitals, cultural institutions and towns in our district are just a portion of what he does every day.

On issues of vast importance such as sensible gun laws and climate action before it is too late, Jim is committed. For women, his advocacy for choice and for reproductive freedom, particularly in light of the recent, reckless Supreme Court action, underscore the need for voters such as you and me to get to the polls on November 8th and vote for his re-election.

Jim is here. He is present. Firmly behind women, men, children, seniors and America. Not a partisan ideologue, a true representative of the people.

I urge you to vote to re-elect Congressman Jim Himes on November 8th. We need him in Congress.
