Back in the day, a man's workout involved building the chest, biceps, and legs.
At Personal Training Professionals (PTP) of Ridgefield, Owner Chris Carlson said those days are long gone in personal training. Today people are taking workouts much more seriously. They want to fight heart disease, or lose weight and increase strength or prevent osteoporosis. One size doesn't fit all.
"People have different goals; we design each program with those specific goals in mind," Carlson said. Each client's workout is designed for them. "This is a big triathlon town. We want to see people reach their goals."
Carlson said nowadays, people are willing to trade a weekend at Martha's Vineyard in order to buy 12 sessions of personal training. They might work 12 hours a day, and when they show up for a workout, they want 100 percent of their attention. "They want to show up, give it their all, and we give it our all," Carlson said.
