Red Rooster Pub In Ridgefield Shutters Permanently: Report
The Red Rooster pub at 43 Danbury Road shuttered following dinner Sunday night, according to a report on social media.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Red Rooster pub at 43 Danbury Road, already slated as a site for future apartments, has shuttered, according to a Facebook post from staff.
Lindsey Kinford told followers of the "Ridgefield, CT" Facebook group the eatery was closed for good as of Sunday night.
"We were given less than 24 hours' notice. So I wanted to say thank you to all my customers that I have met throughout the years. I have met many wonderful people working there through the five years I was there," Kinford posted.

Although abrupt and apparently catching staff by surprise, the closing was no secret. A plan to tear down the eatery and make way for a 3-story, 20-unit, multifamily apartment building was conditionally approved by the town’s Inland Wetlands Board in October. The application, which includes accommodations for around six affordable units, must still be approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
