Report: Ridgefield Mother Forgives Father for Leaving Son in Hot Car

Mother says she has forgiven her husband, according to an interview with the Associated Press.

Lindsey Rogers-Seitz — mother of 15-month-old Benjamin Seitz, who died on July 7 after being forgotten in a hot vehicle for most of the day — said she has forgiven her husband for the mistake that cost their young son’s life.

The father, Kyle Seitz, was supposed to drop the boy off at daycare before heading to work in Ridgefield. Benjamin never made it to daycare and the father found him still in the car and unresponsive that evening.

Seitz rushed the boy to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Rogers-Seitz said the family — including her husband and their two daughters — is pulling together to get through the tragedy.
