Ridgefield Animal Shelter ROAR Joins Clear The Shelters Pet Adoption Campaign This August
ROAR will join NBCUniversal's Clear The Shelters campaign this August to promote pet adoptions and raise donations.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) will participate in NBCUniversal Local’s 11th annual Clear The Shelters campaign this August, a nationwide initiative supporting pet adoptions and shelter fundraising.
The campaign runs from Aug. 1 to 31, with fundraising efforts extending through Sept. 15. Since its launch in 2015, Clear The Shelters has helped nearly 1.2 million animals find homes and raised more than $5 million for shelters across the country.
“As we celebrate ROAR's 25th anniversary, Clear The Shelters represents the heart of what we have worked towards for over two decades—connecting rescued animals who need homes with loving families,” said ROAR Director Kate Zalucky.

This year’s campaign includes in-person and virtual adoptions through the WeRescue app, which allows users to search for pets by breed, size, and other factors, and communicate directly with shelters. Greater Good Charities will once again lead the campaign’s fundraising component, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition returns as national sponsor for the eighth consecutive year.
ROAR, a nonprofit based in Ridgefield, specializes in the care and adoption of homeless animals. The Donofrio Family Animal Shelter, opened in 2005, serves as a safe and welcoming place for pets awaiting adoption.
