Ridgefield Forced To Hire More Teachers: Report
At a time when school funds are dwindling, the district was forced to hire additional teachers.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Three new elementary school teachers had to be hired this summer in order to facilitate a bump in enrollment, reports the News Times. For the third straightyear, the district was forced to hire teachers not accounted for in its budget.
In a time where education funding is slim due to the state budget impasse, the district will be forced to monitor spending even more closely to remain within budget. Superintendent Karen Baldwin said reductions will not be made in other areas.
The new teachers were added to Barlow Mountain Elementary School's third grade and the third and fifth grade levels at Veterans Park Elementary School.
