The Ridgefield Town Charter requires that committees such as the Insurance & Risk Management Committee fill a vacancy with a person who is a member of the same political party as the vacating committee member. It is required that the person appointed to fill the vacancy be a registered Republican. This person would fill the remaining term of the seat until December 2027.
The Insurance & Risk Management Committee’s vital function to the Town is to review the Town's insurance and risk-related issues and provide advice and counsel to the Board of Selectmen on such matters.
The RTC requests that any registered Ridgefield Republican, who may be interested in filling this seat, send a letter of interest as well as a resume or biography to info@ridgefieldrtc.org by 5:00PM on Friday, August 16, 2024. An RTC subcommittee may interview potential candidates and the RTC may send an endorsed candidate to the Board of Selectmen for its consideration.
