Aquarion To Begin Ridgefield Water Infrastructure Project Next Month

Aquarion will replace a pressure-reducing facility in Ridgefield next month, with minor traffic delays expected.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Aquarion Water Co. is scheduled to begin work Jan. 5, 2026, on a water infrastructure project in Ridgefield aimed at maintaining system pressure and fire flow capacity in the central part of town.

The project involves replacing an underground pressure-reducing facility at the intersection of Tanton Hill Road and Danbury Road/Route 35. Aquarion said the work is part of an ongoing effort to improve its water distribution system and ensure reliable service. Construction is expected to continue through the spring of 2026.

During the project, residents and businesses in the area may experience minor traffic delays during normal working hours, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the company said. Seymour-based Griffin Brothers Excavation LLC will serve as the project’s general contractor.
