Ridgefield Man Arrested On Warrant For Car Crash In New Canaan: Police

The crash occurred on Aug. 20 on Silvermine Road.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 22-year-old Ridgefield man was arrested on a warrant by New Canaan police this week in connection with a one-car crash on Aug. 20 on Silvermine Road in which he was injured, according to authorities.

Bartosz A. Kielc, of Prospect Street, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and failure to drive right, after he turned himself in on Monday.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 a.m. in New Canaan.

"The [motor vehicle accident] occurred on Silvermine Road when Kielc's vehicle traveled off Silvermine Road and struck a tree in the 200 block of Silvermine Road," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "Kielc was transported to Norwalk [Hospital] ER by [New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps]; a subsequent Search Warrant was obtained for the BAC of Kielc. The results of the BAC showed a level of .16. Based on the BAC results an arrest warrant was obtained for Kielc."

Kielc was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 12.
