Ridgefield police responded to a one-car accident at about 1 a.m. Thursday on Silver Spring Road. They found a person had struck a utility pole, and they found the driver, Michelle Sabia, 22, of Deer Hill Drive, Ridgefield, was driving under the influence. Sabia failed the field sobriety tests. Police also charged her with failure to drive in a proper lane. Sabia was released on a $100 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on June 25 to respond to the charge.
