RIDGEFIELD, CT — Wasn't is just, like, 20 minutes ago that kids were celebrating the end of the school year? Yeah, well, Alice Cooper's anthem already is more or less stale. It might not feel like it outside, but summer already has entered the backstretch and a new school year beckons.
Students return to school before Labor Day, but there are several important days on the Ridgefield Public Schools calendar that you and your family should know about. It includes need-to-know dates regarding various holidays and teacher work days. The schedule is subject to change, of course, for a variety of the typical reasons.
Below are some of the need-to-know dates coming up in August and September.

- Aug. 31: First day of school for students K-9.
- Sept. 1: First day for students grades 10-12.
- Sept. 4: Labor day
