Ridgefield Woman Nearly Drives into Wilton Home

This story was written by Harold F. Cobin.

Wilton Police say a Ridgefield woman could not provide an explanation Monday morning why her car veered off Nod Hill Road and nearly drove into a house.

Elizabeth Castillo allegedly told officers she'd had a poor night's sleep, but had no exact reason why the accident occurred, police said.

A police report says Castillo was driving southbound on Nod Hill Road shortly before 8 a.m. in her 2001 Subaru Forester when she veered into oncoming traffic and sideswiped a 2011 Honda Pilot.

Castillo's car, according  to the report, then drove through a fence of a residence at 88 Nod Hill Rd., and continued across the front yard until it hit a column and stopped a short distance from the front door.

Castillo complained of arm pain after the accident, but neither she nor the driver of the Honda were transported to a hospital.

Castillo, 50, of 51 Prospect Ridge, #40, was charged with failure to drive in an established lane.
