Services Set for Matthew Joyce, Who Died Monday
The family of Matthew Joyce will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home in Ridgefield on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Matthew J. Joyce, 52, of Ridgefield, husband of Elizabeth (Schoneman) Joyce and father of Emma, Liam and Patrick, died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Danbury Hospital.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow.
Joyce was active in Ridgefield's Scouting and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) communities. He was a leader of the CERT commodities distribution program and "took special pride in introducing Scouts to the world of emergency management," according to Dick Aarons, Deputy Emergency Manager.

"We will all miss Matty greatly. His continual good cheer and enthusiasm were an inspiration to all of us fortunate enough to have called him friend and colleague," said Aarons.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Joyce Children's Educational Fund, P.O. Box 459, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
