It's no secret that business at Swizzles, Main Street's frozen yogurt spot, has cooled off since Peachwave, Danbury Road's fro-yo stop, came to Ridgefield about a year ago.
But in May, Swizzles, located at 424 Main St., closed for renovations and added a soup, salad and Greek yogurt bar, which Allie Duris, a Swizzles employee, said has since brought some additional business.
"It's definitely brought more people in," Duris said.
She said she used to go to Peachwave, located at 32 Danbury Rd., for fro-yo, but that since she began working at Swizzles a few months ago, she's realized that the frozen yogurt at Swizzles is more to her taste and has a "better flavor."
Now, though, the customers coming in can be looking for either frozen yogurt or lunch, Duris said.
"It's definitely a mix between people," she said.
Swizzles offers eight crafted fresh salads, including a baja salad and a oriental sesame salad, for $7.99 to $8.99. There's also a create-your-own option for $6.99 that comes with four toppings.
As for soups, there is a tomato and basil soup and a chicken noodle and rice soup, among others. For a small, it's $3.99, and for a large, $4.99.
There are also multiple flavors and toppings, including cucumbers, honey, walnuts and various berries, at the Greek yogurt bar.
Duris said she likes creating her own salad and getting the chicken noodle and rice soup because it's "not your typical chicken noodle."
