Whether you're in search of something fun to do with the kids or you have a babysitter and are planning a night out, look no further because Patch editors have picked a variety of events taking place today and tomorrow to help you make the most of your weekend. Description: The daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Lucie Arnaz blossomed as an actress opposite her mother on The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy. But Arnaz has since triumphed in a variety of mediums, most notably in the Broadway musical They're Playing Our Song and in the film The Jazz Singer, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.

Brookfield: An Evening with Dolley Madison

Where: Brookfield Library, 182 Whisconier Road

When: Friday, May 10, 7 p.m.

Cost:  Free

Description: Mrs. Madison will speak about the founding of our nation, the role of her husband, James Madison, as the Father of the American Constitution, and the events of the early Republic.  Carolyn Ivanoff, Housemaster at Shelton Intermediate School, will present the program in period dress.

Easton: Easton Garden Club's Garden Mart

Where: Easton's Firehouse Green at the intersection of Sport Hill and Center Roads 

When: Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Cost: Depends on item purchased

Description: Colorful perennials and annuals will brighten the day at the Easton Garden Club's Annual Garden Mart. The Garden Mart is a rain or shine event.

Middlebury: Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast

Where: Middlebury Parks & Recreation - Shepardson Community Center, 1172 Whittemore Road

When: Sunday, May 12, 8:30 a.m.

Cost:  6 years and over: $7; Under 6: $5; Family Max: $25; Kids under 2 free

Description: Hosted by Middlebury Lions Club for the benefit of the Middlebury Family Services Emergency Fund. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, baked goods, fruit cup, coffee, tea and juice.

New Canaan: Of Mice and Men

When: Fri-Sat May 10-11, 17-18

Where: The Powerhouse Theater, Waveny Park, New Canaan

Cost: $20, $15 seniors, students

Description: The Town Players of New Canaan's three-week run of John Steinbeck's classic American drama "Of Mice and Men" continues at the Powerhouse Theatre on Fridays and Saturdays May 10, 11, 17, 18 at 8 pm, and Sunday May 12 at 2:30 pm.  To reserve tickets and see behind the scenes videos, photos and interesting stories about the production, visit www.tpncshows.org, or call 203-966-7371.  

Norwalk: Comedy Night

Description: An awesome fun night of music and comedy from professional NY City Comedians. Featuring the Norwalk High School Jazz Band. Featuring comedians Tom Shillue (opener for Jim Gaffigan) as well as Americas got talent finalist Eric Dittleman.

Norwalk: Green Lady Performs Live

Where: Ash Creek Saloon, 2 Wilton Ave.

Description: Get your dancing shoes on and come hang with Green Eyed Lady! Eat, drink and dance to GEL's eclectic mix of classic and alternative

Redding: Moving Sale

Redding: Redding Garden Club Plant Sale

Where: 100 Lonetown Road

When: Saturday, May 11, 9 a.m.

Cost: Cost depends on item

Description: The selections for sale will include donated Redding Plants from Redding Garden Club members. A splendid variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables, organic seedlings, houseplants as well as many native plants.  A great selection of tools and Deer Repellent will be available. Browse the Second Hand Rose for used garden-related items.

Washington Depot: Garage Sale

Where: 26 Steeples Road

When: Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Description: Multi-family, Something for everyone. Housewares, antique child's desk, silverplate tea set, linens, Christmas village, kids things. Rain or Shine.

Wilton: Author Talk with Elizabeth Benedict—What My Mother Gave Me

Where: Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road

When: Friday, May 10, 7 p.m.
