You Can Buy This $200 Beer In Connecticut
The beer itself is illegal in 12 states. It's made with something called ninja yeast.

Connecticut is known for its strict alcohol consumption laws. Years ago, you couldn't buy alcohol on Sundays in the state. However, Connecticut is one of the 38 states nationwide where you can buy Sam Adams' Utopia beer, but it will run you a pretty penny.
The beer giant announced its 10th release of its Utopias beer this week, a limited release which comes out every two years. This year's batch comes in at 28 percent alcohol by volume, which is greater than Malibu Rum, equal to a bottle of Amaretto and nearly as much as Blue Curacao.
It is the alcohol content that makes it illegal in 12 states. In order to facilitate the high aclohol content, brewers used a yeast strain called "ninja yeast."

"At 28% ABV, this brew is reminiscent of a rich vintage Port, old Cognac, or fine Sherry with notes of dark fruit, subtle sweetness, and a deep rich malty smoothness," Read Sam Adams' announcement.
Unlike your standard 12-ounce or 16-ounce beer pour, Sam Adams recommends you consume the beer in a two-ounce pour. They even designed a special glass for the beer. The beer is even aged in single-use bourbon casks from the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
