Body Found In Connecticut River In Rocky Hill: UPDATE

The body was found on Sunday morning in the water.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A body was found in the Connecticut River just before 9 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Police said they received a report from a boater on the Connecticut River regarding a body in the water near the shoreline south of Ferry Park.

Upon arrival, responding officers and emergency personnel confirmed the presence of a deceased individual in the water, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was notified and responded to assist with the investigation.

At this time, the identity of the individual remains unknown and the cause of death is pending determination by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, police added.

"The circumstances surrounding this case are currently under active investigation by the Rocky Hill Police Department Detective Division," police said. "Updates will be provided as more information becomes available."
