Children's Department At Cora J. Belden Library Gets Facelift
Carpet replaced and other renovations complete.
It took just a few days but the difference is immeasurable in the Cora J. Belden Library's Chidren's section.
The town's capital improvements budget approved new carpet in the room, which is downstairs at the library. The library rug, which was worn, especially on the stairs, had stains in several spots.
"We are happy to have a new rug being put in that space," Library Director Mary Hogan said. "It was pretty neat to have them start on a Monday and have them finish by Friday.
The new carpet put in was put in piece by piece, square by square. This will help in the future because if a spot becomes stained the individual square can be taken out and not the whole carpet.
"We have re-designed the children's room with new carpeting and book displays placed within easy reach of all children," Hogan added. "Because we will soon have "kid-sized" computer workstations, we now encourage all adults to use the computers upstairs, unless they are accompanied by a child."
