Construction Accident Leads To Serious Injuries: Rocky Hill Police
A man suffered serious injuries with "impalement to the leg," police said.

ROCKY HILL, CT —A 45-year-old man suffered serious injuries during a construction accident Friday morning, police said.
At 9:25 a.m., police, fire and Aetna Ambulance responded to 153 Parsonage St. for a construction related accident. A man suffered serious injuries with "impalement to the leg," police said.
Due to the severity of the injuries and the inability to remove the construction equipment, LifeStar along with Hartford Hospital Trauma Team, Yale New Haven SHARPS Team, and other medical providers were requested, police said.

Multiple construction companies and the Rocky Hill Highway Department responded with heavy-duty equipment to assist, police said.
LifeStar took the patient to Hartford Hospital. Police said the man is expected to survive.

"The incident required a multiagency response in conjunction with medical personnel from across the state," police said. "A unified command was utilized to provide critical emergency care to the patient, which resulted in a successful extraction and transport. Rocky Hill Police would like to thank all responding personnel who assisted in this incident."
The incident is under investigation by OSHA and police.
