CT Lottery Puts New Retail System In Place
The CT Lottery's new system has replaced one used for 15 years.

ROCKY HILL, CT — The Connecticut Lottery Corporation Tuesday announced the successful deployment of its new retail lottery system, which became effective Sunday at all 2,900 lottery retailers across the state.
The new Aurora system, powered by New England-based IGT, has replaced the CT Lottery's prior system, which was in use since 2008.
"With this new system in place, CLC can return to developing new games and promotions to benefit players and the State of Connecticut for many years to come," CT Lottery President and CEO Gregory Smith said. "As with any older technology, the time had come to make necessary upgrades to the software to improve the stability of the lottery system. This comprehensive system conversion project was successfully completed after almost two years of preparation and testing by CLC and IGT staff."

Over the past few months, 2,900 new lottery sales terminals were installed at retailers across the state, officials said. As part of the conversion, data was migrated from the previous system to ensure that all tickets purchased prior to Sunday (May 21) would be valid on the new system, officials said.
Players are also being encouraged to check the CT Lottery’s website, ctlottery.org, to confirm drawing results.

"The confidence of our players and the integrity of our games is a primary focus for us," Smith said. "Players can be assured that all unclaimed winning ticket data was migrated to the new system, and those tickets can be claimed at our retailers and claims centers across the state. As always, CLC is committed to honoring all winning tickets according to game rules."
Smith said players will see more updates in the "days and weeks to come," with a new mobile app launching "soon" and the roll out of new self-service vending machines.
"We thank our dedicated staff and retailers for their efforts to make this system conversion as smooth as possible for our players," Smith said. "We would also like to acknowledge the commitment of our state Department of Consumer Protection throughout the conversion project."
