ROCKY HILL, CT — Eversource is undertaking tree work in Rocky Hill as part of a project designed "to help reduce power outages."

In Rocky Hill, the energy company is pruning trees near electric lines along nearly 25 miles of town roads.

"A consistent tree trimming program helps to improve day-to-day reliability during all types of weather. As a result, we continue to see fewer power outages where this work has been done," Eversource Manager of Vegetation Management in Connecticut Sean Redding said. "While we all love our trees, they can have a devastating effect on the electric system, especially during a storm and that’s why this work is so vital."
