Heavy Snow Possible for Rocky Hill This Weekend
The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Advisory on Tuesday as gusts could exceed 50 mph.

Before we get to this weekend’s first possible significant snowstorm, the National Weather Service’s “Wind Advisory” is in effect from 7 a.m. today to 7 p.m. this evening for Hartford and Tolland counties.
The advisory states:
* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 45 AND 50 MPH.
* TIMING...MID MORNING THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING.
* IMPACTS...WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE MAY DOWN SOME SMALL TREE
LIMBS...POSSIBLY RESULTING IN ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE 31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH. WINDS THIS STRONG ARE CAPABLE OF DOWNING SMALL TREE LIMBS AND BRANCHES...POSSIBLY CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CAN ALSO BE DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.

Weekend Snowstorm Chance
The National Weather Service states that Friday night into this weekend there is a “low to moderate probability that a winter storm will affect the region.”

“The ultimate effects will depend upon the exact track of this system. As of now the main threats appear to be heavy snow...strong winds and coastal flooding,” the weather service writes.
Snow is forecast to begin falling anytime after 7 p.m. Friday and continue throughout Saturday and Saturday night.
