'Natalia Has Such A Big Heart': Rocky Hill Star Student

ROCKY HILL, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Karen who nominated Natalia of Rocky Hill.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Natalia deserves to be recognized for the time she spends giving back to the community and the random acts of kindness (she) completes.

Natalia belongs to the Rocky Hill Youth Coalition group where she is part of many community activities that include coordinating events for the Seniors Citizens, working drug take back events, collecting donations for less fortunate community members, just to name a few.

In 2018 Natalia started a business called NRG Creations where she started making ornaments and selling them. At this time, Natalia used the proceeds to purchase toys for kids in need. Since then, Natalia has been using the proceeds to send care packages to deployed Troops, donating goods to the homeless shelter, putting together backpacks for school children, paying for first responders meals along with many other things.

Her favorite memory was planning a Holiday Party at a local rehab center for women and children. Natalia purchased toys and warm outdoor clothing for each child. The kids had pizza that was donated from a local business and made holiday cookies. The moms wrapped their children’s gifts as Natalia got to read and play with the children. She even had a chance to go back and visit the children after the Holiday.

Natalia has such a big heart and is always thinking of others! She’s a great asset to our school and community.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Natalia is a very kind and caring student. She’s always looking for ways to help not only students but teachers as well. She can be found greeting a new student and is the first to find a seat for them in the lunchroom.
