Reported Gun On Elementary School Bus ‘Not Credible’: Rocky Hill PD

Police investigated a report of a student claiming there was a gun on an elementary school bus on Tuesday morning.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A report of a gun on a school bus at a magnet school in Rocky Hill was found to be “not credible,” according to police.

Police responded to an emergency call on Tuesday morning regarding a potential threat at the CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Magnet Elementary School at 7 Gardner Way in Rocky Hill, according to Lt. Steve Morgan.

Morgan said a student claimed there was a firearm on a school bus.

“Rocky Hill Police officers responded promptly, securing the bus and ensuring the safety of all students on board,” Morgan wrote in a news release. “Following a thorough investigation by the Rocky Hill Police Department, CREC school administration and security staff, it was confirmed that the statement was not credible, and no weapon was found. This incident was isolated to the CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Magnet Elementary School and no Rocky Hill Public Schools were impacted. No arrests were made due to the age of the elementary school students involved.”
