Pedestrian Struck By Construction Vehicle In Rocky Hill: Police

The pedestrian was hospitalized after the crash, according to police.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a construction vehicle Thursday morning in Rocky Hill, according to police.

Police received a 911 call around 11:30 a.m. reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Winter Lane, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Foss-Rugan.

Emergency crews responded, and Foss-Rugan said the pedestrian sustained injuries that weren’t life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital.

A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle was “engaged in roadway construction when a collision occurred with a pedestrian,” according to Foss-Rugan.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to Foss-Rugan.

Foss-Rugan said the identity of the driver, the construction company, and the pedestrian is not being released at this time.

The pedestrian was listed as being in stable condition, according to Foss-Rugan.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team is taking over the investigation.
